What an honorable assignment. I was asked to design the cover of the book with stories and photos of the village Warmond in World War II. The book was published in the year of the celebration of 75 years of freedom after World War II. An exhibition was also planned, but the coronavirus prosponed all the plans. For the exhibition I also designed the poster, hopefully next year it will be seen everywhere around the town.
Illustration sixties style
I Just love the sixties style. I made this illustration in soft but bright colours.
Logo design and web design bio wine
A company that imports European biological wine and sells in the Netherlands, www.wijnenvanmarc.nl, started a subcompany for wine delivery on subscription. Every month the customer will receive six bottles of wine of his chosen category. The categories are Mix, Season, White and Red. Translation of the company’s name is ‘Your Bio Wine Box’. The colour green of the biological quality mark had to be used.
The request was a logo design and a new website. I guess the box speaks for itself. That was what I was after; a clear and self explaining logo design. For the website I edited an image to make it perfect as an hero image. Check www.jouwbiowijnbox.nl.
Illustration – I love to work with positive negative space, or, ’the art of omitting’.
This lady I call the ‘versatile lady’ – she’s beautiful in many colours.
Web design and identity
This is a design that still makes me happy to work with. This is a volunteer committee for organising art and cultural events. The colour of the village is blue, which was the starting point. I made the blue a little softer and with the yellow it gives a bright and vivid contrast.
For this identity there was needed a logo, a webdesign, poster designs, flyer design just everything.
Logo design starting company
Marjolein.inc started her own company and she needed a logo design to develop her company style. Challenge was she offers three different services in her company; career coach, colour consultant and powershoot coach (portrait photographer). This seems quite diverse, but while interviewing her, I came to a common denominator. The link was the attention for the client, the client make and feel central and feeling good about themselves.
Another request was a colour- and powerful logo design, with royal blue as her favourite colour. This colour was the starting point.
I made another design as well, with more suggested movement, but this was the excellent choice by Marjolein.inc.
Web design and corporate design
The LAEGO foundation is for general practitioners in elderly care and specialists in geriatric medicine. The foundation had several requests I realised:
- adjusting their existing logo
- make a new website
- make a new map on the website where all members are listed and easy to find for colleagues and clients
- make it possible to donate via the website
- make a powerpoint template
This image with the three faces of elderly people I used in the powerpoint template. It was based on the images on the website.
Poster design - cow girl
The local soccer and handball club has an enthousiastic women’s team. Each year they organise a ‘ladies only’ night to raise money for the club. Sweet initiative that I supported twice with a poster and invitation.
The image with white background is the poster – since the budget the poster was printed on regular printers. To avoid any distracting stripes on the outline, I made the background white. The invitation however, was professionally printed on A6-format and I added this old paper-look, see below.
